Heads up (again)

I will be showing some work at 555 Gallery that is familiar to some of you starting October 4 at 555 Gallery in Boston. The opening is Saturday, October 11 from 5-8 pm.

My pictures are of medical specimens, abnormalities and deformities, both human and animal, from the Mutter Museum in Philadelphia and the Spallanzini Collection in Reggio Emilia, Italy.

The Mutter Museum ones are new prints, in color and large. I don't believe I've ever shown the color ones in print form. They are from 8 x 10 inch transparencies.

The show is called "The Devil's Promenade" and features works by

Antone Dolezal and Lara Shipley.

I very much hope to see you there.

October 11, 5- 8 pm.

Heads Up

I am writing to acquaint you with a few things coming up that I am participating in.

First off, I am lecturing on my work and career for the Boston Architectural College(BAC) this Friday, May 10th at 11 am. This is part of the events occurring as the Boston photography festival called Flash Forward gears up. More on the festival and my lecture at their website: Flash Forward. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Next up, I am giving a gallery talk at the Danforth Museum in Framingham, MA on my show there called Wheat at 3 pm, Sunday, Mother's Day, May 12th.

For more information go to:Danforth Art

Next, Tuesday, May 14, at 6 pm I am on a panel discussion at the Photonics Center on the campus of Boston University for the PRC. The topic is "Portfolio Preflight" and it is intended to help people prepare their portfolios for the upcoming NEPR (New England Portfolio Reviews)hosted by both the PRC and the Griffin Museum June 8 and 8. If  you plan on having your work reviewed and have not done so before I recommend the panel Tuesday evening as it will answer all your questions and probably help you be less anxious as well.

For more information and to sign up go to: Photographic Resource Center

And finally, I will be a reviewer for NEPR this year, as I have for several years, and will be available on both days, June 7 and 8th. I am hoping to reaquaint myself with the work of some of you that have been showing me your portfolios in past years and meet new photographers as well. Note: if you do sign up for me to see your work, I do not accept work shown eletronically. No iPad or computers, please.

Registration for this important regional event for photographers takes place May 13th.

To sign up and to register go to: PRC NEPR or to: Griffin Museum of Photography

To review:

May 10, 11 am lecture at the BAC

May 12, 3 pm, gallery talk at the Danforth Museum

May 14, 6 pm Portfolio Preflight panel discussion at the Photonics Center at BU

June 7 & 8: NEPR  portfolio reviews, Photonics Center, at BU

Looks like I got home just in time. I look forward to seeing you at some or all of these events.
