Fort Pulaski, GA 1999
This series was made on a trip to Savannah, Georgia to a photo conference with students. I was making a presentation of my work at the conference using a new slide show technology and it was questionable whether it would work or not. Looser than many, this group is the result of two shoots at the Fort, which is a few miles out of town on the way to Tybee Island. This is getting to the end of the time I printed series work conventionally in the darkroom. The prints are silver gelatin and about 12.5 inches square. Same camera as most of these: the Superwide Hasseblad (SWC).
In number 15 the people in the photograph are, left to right: very small: Cristina Rivera, then Jeremy Knight ( who was helpimg me with the slide presentation), Bob O'Connor and to the far right pointing, Peter Stitt.
